Rental Information:

Office hours:

  • 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday
  • 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday (Arrangements can be made if you arrive after 4:00 pm)
If you are interested in a long term rental, please contact us.

Making Your Reservation:

Reservations run from Sunday to Sunday unless stated otherwise. Check in time is 4:00 pm. Check out time is 10:00 am. Please try to be on time. Arrangements can be made for arriving after 4:00, just let us know. If unit is ready before 4:00, you may check in early.

Confirming Your Reservation:

To confirm and hold a reservation by phone we require a 50% deposit within 10 working days from when we receive your request. Once we have received your payment, a confirmation will be mailed to you. We accept cash, travelers checks, personal checks and all major credit cards. The balance of rent is due 4 weeks prior to arrival, plus a $100.00 security and damage deposit.

Taxes are 6.75% NC Sales tax and 5% Carteret County room tax which are added to rental prices plus admin. charge. linens are not provided unless requested and at an additional price. If the unit is left undamaged and the check out procedures are followed, the security deposit is refunded within 45 days.

Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you must cancel your reservation, all money paid is forfeited (except security deposit) unless the property is re-rented for the entire canceled period and for the full rental price.

If the property is not re-rented for the entire rental amount, then all funds will be refunded except the reservation fee, trip insurance premium (if applicable), and a cancellation fee of $50.00.

A request to transfer to a different week at the same property for the same year will be honored if available but a $50.00 fee will be charged.

A request to transfer to another property is considered a cancellation.

TRIP CANCELLATION/INTERRUPTION PLAN:

Because unforseen circumstances arise, Rains Realty & Rentals strongly advises that Travel Guard's "Protect Assist Protection Plan Insurance" be purchased.

We advise you to purchase this travel insurance so you and your family will be financially reimbursed in case of unforeseeable events. This includes protection against loss of vacation time due to:

  • Sickness, injury or death of an Insured or Family member
  • Weather conditions causing delay or cancellation of travel (This includes severe storm or hurricane evacuations)
  • Strike resulting in the complete cessation of travel services
  • Your home or destination being made uninhabitable by fire, flood, or natural disaster
  • You or your traveling companion being subpoenaed, required to serve on a jury, hijacked, or quarantined
  • A travel delay which results in the loss of more than 50% of your scheduled trip length
  • A terrorist incident in a ctiy to which you were scheduled to arrive within 30 days following the incident
  • Plus many more benefits

If you choose not to purchase the travel insurance, no refunds will be given in the event of unforeseeable cancellations, including hurricane evacuations.

What To Bring:

All linens, including dish towels and bath mats, blankets and paper supplies. Linens and towels will not be provided by agency or owner. No appliances or air-conditioners are guaranteed. There will be no refunds on appliance or air conditioner failures. We try to keep these in as good working order as possible, and any failures will be fixed as quickly as possible.

Extras Available For Rental!!

Linens, port-a-cribs, and high chairs are available for rent. Please let us know if you will be needing these items.

Number of Occupants:

Limited to sleeping accommodations. Please do not bring more guests than the cottage will accommodate in beds. Guests must be 25 years of age.

Pets:

No pets are allowed in ANY of the cottages or apartments unless agency agrees in advance. We will refuse occupancy if a pet is brought to cottage or apartment and deposit will be forfeited unless authorized in writing.

Please call us to inquire about the excellent area kennels available for your pet to find lodging during your stay.

Cleaning:

Prices vary according to size and will be quoted upon reservation. Make SURE the following is done before departure, or an extra fee will be charged.

  1. Dishes washed and put away, and all trash placed in proper recepticles.
  2. Beds made, windows and doors closed and locked.
  3. All lights off and thermostats set to 75 degrees in summer and 55 degrees in the winter.
  4. Keys, parking passes and any rented items returned to office.

Important!!

If parking passes and/or keys are not returned upon check-out, there is a $50.00 charge. After Hours Charge, if we have to let you in your unit at night, there will be a $50 charge.
