The day recalls Colonial excitement generated by the arrival and business of the circuit court judge in Beaufort! Merchants planned for this gathering of people as it was good for business. It still is! Colonial and Victorian Children’s Games will be demonstrated by staff and volunteers during Publick Day, 1:00-3:00 PM, at the Beaufort Historic Site. Admission is FREE!

For over 30 years the North Carolina Maritime Museum's Annual Wooden boat Show has provided an exciting venue for owners and builders of wooden boat to come together to show and operate their boats. Workshops, demonstations, launchings, races, and other educational programs have served to expand the public's awareness of the very special properties of wooden boats. Enjoy activities and exhibits on display at the NC Maritime Museum, the museum's Watercraft Center and the museum's expansion site at gallants Channel, with free parking available.

Morehead City Family Boating & In Water Boat Show

The boating begins on May 15th at 7PM with a Gala Celebration of the Boat Show.

The Family Boating and In-Water Boat Show begins Saturday, May 16, 10AM - 5PM until Sunday, May 17, 11AM - 4PM.

Auxiliary's Boating Safety exhibits and programs which will begin Boating Safety Week. Try out Volvo Penta's new interactive intelligent Propulsion System (IPS) at the electronics booth. Tour in-water and on shore power boats. Enjoy band concerts including the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing's Rock and Roll band, always a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Local restaurants will also have food booths.

2009 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show

North Carolina's largest air show, the "MCAS Cherry Point Air Show", has recently announced that it will host the area's premiere spectator event May 15-17, 2009.

This year marks the premiere appearance of the world famous "Canadian Snowbirds" precision jet team. The Snowbirds demonstration team is a Canadian icon comprised of members of the Canadian Forces. Their pilots and technicians work as a team to bring thrilling performances to the North American air show public. Serving as Canadian ambassadors, the Snowbirds demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, teamwork, excellence, discipline and dedication inherent in the women and men of the Air Force and the Canadian Forces.
On Friday, May 15, the air show will again host the state's only "Night Show," featuring afterburners, rocket trucks, aerial pyrotechnics, skydivers, plus, a wall of flame – all culminating in the area's largest fireworks display. Gates for the Night Show open at 5 p.m. with flying commencing at twilight.

Both Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, will highlight full "Day Shows" with a large variety of military and civilian aerobatic demonstrations, plus dozens of historic and modern military static displays. Military acts will include: the Canadian Snowbirds, a Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration highlighting the U.S. Marine Corps' finest capabilities, an AV-8B Harrier demonstration, the Canadian Skyhawks skydiving team, plus a large variety of flybys and demos.

The air show will also highlight ground activities for the kids, a comprehensive business expo, plus various rides and simulators. Admission and parking are free.

Those wishing to purchase "Preferred Seating" to include bleacher seats, box seats and chalet seating can do so utilizing the air show website.

Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament

An exciting Crystal Coast tradition in mid-June, This is one of the largest sport-fishing tournaments in the country, and is fished by around 200 competitors in substantial cash categories. there are generally around 6 to 8 competitors in each boat.

Headquartered at the Beaufort Town Docks in downtown Beaufort legendary outdoorsman Tred Barta holds his 6th Annual Billfish Release Only Tournament which aslo included game fish (Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo, and King mackerel).
Over 200 trophies are given out for Billfish Releases and game fish weighed in. Wegh in is from 4-6pm Friday & Sat. 100% of the proceeds go to the Boys & Girls Club of Coastal Carolina.

Invasion will begin at 1:30 on Saturday, August 9 from the Beaufort Waterfront. After invasion, those captured will be marched to the Beaufort Historic Site for a mock trial.

4th Annual Crystal Coast Super Boat Grand Prix

If you're looking for excitement and feel the need for speed, then come watch the Crystal Coast Super Boat Grand Prix on the Morehead City Waterfront! Last year's event was so successful that Morehead City has earned a permanent spot on the racing calendar. Watch the Super Boat races from the Morehead City waterfront, one of the best places for up-close audience viewing on the racing circuit.
Some of the activities for this year's race include a "Taste of Crystal Coast" reception, Block Party, Cook Out and Awards Banquet.
The tickets for the race are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under. Tickets may be purchased at EJW Sports and at the Port Authority gate. Military can purchase tickets at ITT aboard Cherry Point Air Station.
All of the net proceeds from the race will go to benefit The Downtown Morehead City Revitalization Association.
